Daniel James Meyer, 52 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Thursday at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 31 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father Nick Landsberger officiating. Burial will be held at Lake View Cemetery in Grey Eagle, MN. Friends may gather from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:30-11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Parish Prayers will be said at 7:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Daniel James Meyer was born March 15, 1959 at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN to Raymond and Judith (Hendrickson) Meyer. He grew up in the Pierz area and graduated from Pierz High School. He was united in marriage to Jeanne Black in December 1981 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Alicia Meyer. The couple later divorced but remained close friends. Daniel was a union painter for 21 years, working for various companies. Daniel also worked for Index 53 eye wear in St. Joseph, MN for six years. Daniel treasured his time spent with his daughter, Alicia, fishing, attending ballgames and races. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, playing softball, watching the Minnesota Vikings and attending his nephew's baseball games. Daniel was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and a NASCAR fan. He had a tremendous die cast car collection. Daniel enjoyed going to the races at Sauk Centre Speedway. He was an active member of the Painters Union #884, where he served as president of the union for three years and trustee for nine years and the Moose Lodge. Daniel will be remembered as a loving son, father, brother and uncle by his father, Raymond Meyer of Pierz, MN; mother, Judith (Roger) Rauch of Pierz, MN; daughter, Alicia (Blake) Aura of Maplewood, MN; siblings, Diana (Jim) Kalis of Little Falls, MN, Ken (Debbie) Meyer of Little Falls, MN, Mark (Lorraine) Meyer of Pierz, MN; nephews and nieces, Justin Kalis, Kyle Kalis, Logan Kalis, Misty Meyer, Jory Meyer, Caleb Meyer and Jacob Meyer; great-nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nick and Loretta Meyer, Albert and Martha Hendrickson; aunts, uncles and cousins. Casket bearers will be: Logan Kalis, Justin Kalis, Jacob Meyer, Kyle Kalis, Caleb Meyer, Jori Meyer. Arrangements for Daniel are with Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, Inc.
