Dallas Raab

Dallas Raab, age 90, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at First United Church in Little Falls with Rev. Damen Heitmann officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls. Visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. on Thursday at the church. Dallas Wayne Raab was born on July 3, 1921 in Hardin County, Iowa the son of Frederick & Freely (Mallory) Raab. He grew up on a farm in Hardin County and attended country school. He continued his education in Eldora, Iowa where he graduated from high school in 1939. Following his schooling, he spent two years in the state of Washington where he worked on a dairy farm and at Boeing Aircraft for two years. He then returned to Iowa and farmed in Hardin County. He was united in marriage to Vivian Taylor on August 22, 1944 at the Baptist church in Eldora, Iowa. The couple continued farming and raised four children. In 1965, Dallas and Vivian moved to Todd County where they purchased a farm. They later started Circle R Ranch and retired from the ranch in 1987 to the Little Falls area. Dallas enjoyed square dancing, fishing, golfing, camping, and spending time with his family. He was a member of First United Church in Little Falls. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Vivian of Little Falls; children, Stanley (Liz) Raab of LaVista, NE and Patty Hanneman of Durham, NC; and siblings, Bill (Thelma) Raab of Terra Alta, WV and Hazel Freeman of Iowa Falls, IA; and grandchildren, Steve Raab, Dave (Mollie) Raab and their children, Steven and Michael, Russell (Stacie) Hanneman, Wayne Phillips and daughter, Ava and Kellie (Dallas Peoples) Hanneman and daughter, Amelia. Dallas was preceded in death by his parents; children, Bonnie Raab Phillips and Alan Raab; grandson, Wesley Phillips and sister, Dorothy Wing.
