Corey S. Meyer

Corey S. Meyer, age 38, of Coon Rapids, MN, died of a hunting accident on Saturday, November 13, 2010 in Otter Tail County. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. A private interment service will be held at a later date. Corey Steven Meyer was born on September 5, 1972 in Brainerd, MN the son of Bernard Meyer and Susan Giese. He grew up in Richardson Township, Morrison County, Minnesota and attended school in Onamia. He completed his education in 1990 when he graduated from Apollo High School in St. Cloud. Following his schooling, he entered the United States Army where he served in active duty for three years and in the reserves for ten years. Corey worked in construction most of his life as a 49er heavy equipment operator. He was currently employed at Reinders, Inc. in Plymouth, MN. Corey loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, camping, farming with his buddy, Harvey and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed spending time with his son, Preston. Left to cherish his memory are his three year old son, Preston S. Meyer of Spring Lake Park, MN; significant other, Kris Allen of Spring Lake Park, MN; parents, Bernard (Karen) Meyer of St. Michael, MN, and Susan Giese of Waseca, MN; sister, Jojean (Andy Ziegler) Meyer of Milaca, MN; half brothers and sisters, Ted (Erin) Riedemann of Crosby, MN, Billi Jo (Chris) Keeney of St. Cloud, MN, Felicia (Glen) Meyer-Kreft of Fergus Falls, MN, Nicholas (Tiffany) Meyer of Bowlus, MN and Joey (Kayla) Ritter of Swanville, MN; step brother and sister, Kelly (kittens, Sly, Aurora and Jake) Knopp of St. Cloud, MN, Lisa (Michael) Jungck of St. Cloud, MN, Step grandmother, Lorraine LeDoux of Fargo, ND and other relatives and friends. Corey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reinhard & Angeline Meyer and Mammy (BettyJean) & Boppy (Edwin) Giese.
