Clayton R. Houle, 89 year old resident of Brainerd, MN died, Sunday, January 7 at his home in Brainerd, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 10 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN. with Rev. Mark Innocneti officiating, Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 AM until the hour of service at the church on Wednesday. Clayton was born November 8, 1917 in Ripley Township, Morrison County, MN. He attended school at the Crosier School in Onamia, MN and graduated in 1935. Clayton enlisted in the National Guard on September 13, 1939. On July 18, 1945, He enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on April 22, 1946. Clayton was united in marriage to Rachel Tower the couple had four children. Rachel died in 1985. Clayton was a sheet metal journey man. He belonged to the Sheet Metal Union #10. Clayton enjoyed playing the organ and piano. Clayton was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Clayton also worked on the construction of the church. He had a passion for fishing and flowers. Clayton is survived by his wife, Adele of Brainerd, MN; children, Nancy Dooley of Eakona, AK, James Houle and wife, Rosemary of Corpus Christi, TX, Michael Houle and wife, Susan of Anchorage, AK, Rebecca Pfau and husband, Paul of Lakeville, MN;step-children, Linda Laughton and husband, Paul of Brainerd, MN, Leon Bock and wife, Kularb) of Brainerd, MN, Michael Bock and wife, Connie of Pillager, MN, David Bock and wife, Sheryl of Brainerd, MN, Roxanne Bock of Pillager, MN, Colleen Russell and Danny Seguin of Deer Wood, MN. 24 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife, Rachel Houle and infant son in 1962.
