Clarence Pomplun

Clarence Pomplun, age 85, of Minneapolis, formerly of Hillman, MN, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz, MN, with Fr. Kenneth Popp officiating.Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz, MN.

Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9:00 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.

Clarence Arnold Pomplun was born on August 29, 1928, in Hillman, MN, the son of Henry & Marie (Fenna) Pomplun.He grew up in the Hillman area where he attended country school.He entered the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict.He was united in marriage to Lucille Meyer on June 18, 1955, in Minneapolis, MN.The couple made their home in Minneapolis.Clarence worked at Ford Motor Company for thirty seven years.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time on their hunting land and at the cabin on Platte Lake.He was a member of the Hillman American Legion.

Survivors include his son, Craig Pomplun of Ham Lake, MN; grandchildren, Chad (Liz) Pomplun of Ham Lake, MN, and Brianna Pomplun of Ham Lake, MN; great-grandchildren, Brock and Brody Pomplun; sister, Betty Samuelson of Milwaukee, WI,and Leonette (Rogers) Anthony of Tacoma, WA, and other relatives and friends.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Marie; wife, Lucille Pomplun (June 8, 1985); brother, LeRoy Pomplun and a sister, Frances Ring.
