Clarence Jendro, 92 year old resident of Bowlus, MN, died Wednesday, October 22 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 26 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus, MN with Father. Michael Kellog officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 25 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church on Monday. A Rosary will be said at 6:30 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:30 P.M. on Sunday evening at the church. Military honors will be conducted by the Bowlus American Legion Post # 642. Arrangements are with the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. 1-320-632-4393. Clarence Jendro was born October 10, 1917, to the late Valentine and Anna (Stodolka) Jendro. He attended District # 6 Country School in North Prairie, MN. After completing his schooling, he worked for his brother, Leo, as a mechanic in Bowlus, MN. He also worked on the family farm. Clarence was the first voluntary induction of Morrison County into the United States Army during World War II. He served his Country from November 26, 1940 until being honorably discharged on June 26, 1945. Clarence was united in marriage to Johanna Frances Waletzki on August 20, 1945 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus, MN. The couple made their home in Brooklyn Park from 1945 until moving to North Prairie in 1951. During his time in Brooklyn Park, he worked as a mail sorter for the United States Post Office. After moving to North Prairie, MN, Clarence farmed and also worked for Crestliner Boats in Little Falls, MN, retiring in 1984. In 1984, the couple retired to Bowlus, MN residing there until he moved into St. Otto's Care Center in September, 2009. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in North Prairie, MN from 1951 until moving into Bowlus in 1984, at which time he joined St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Clarence enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing cards especially Smear. He spent many hours taking apart and restoring cars and tractors. Clarence was an exceptional mechanic. His true love was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Johanna Jendro, of Bowlus, MN; children, David Jendro and wife, Marie, of LaPorte, MN, Sharon Fleischhacker and husband, Ervin, of Paynesville, MN, Judy Rahn and husband, Dale, of Bowlus, MN, Ralph Jendro and wife, Kathy, of Rice, MN, Audrey Kloss and husband, Ronald, of Royalton, MN and Gary Jendro and wife, Tammy, of Royalton, MN. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Valentine and Anna (Stodolka) Jendro; siblings, Peter Jendro, Otto Jendro, Leo Jendro and Tracy Klisch and grandson, Thomas Jendro.
