Clara M. Zimny

Clara Zimny, age 90, of Royalton, MN, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at her home at Riverside Assisted Living in Royalton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 12, 2014, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, MN, with Fr. Laurn Virnig officiating.Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 11:00 A.M. on Friday.

Clara Marie Leidenfrost was born on July 24, 1924, in Agram Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the daughter of Fred & Angela (Kippley) Leidenfrost.She grew up on a farm in Agram Township where she attended Agram Township Country School through the eighth grade.She graduated from Little Falls High School, Class of 1942.After her schooling, Clara worked at Munsingwear in St. Paul for one year and then moved back to help on the farm.Claras father managed the Agram Township Baseball team for which she kept the books.With marriage in mind, she was introduced to the team pitcher, Isidor Zimny, by her father.The couple was married on June 7, 1947 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz.They made their home on the Zimny family farm in Bellevue Township where they raised their family.Clara enjoyed milking cows, going to baseball games, dancing, playing cards, reading and family activities.She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, the Christian Mothers, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Royalton. Clara was famous for her chocolate chip cookies and always kept the cookie jar full.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cathy (David) Adamek of Randall, MN, Jerry (Barbe) Zimny of Esko, MN, Dan (Colleen) of Alexandria, MN, Joyce (Terry) Hochsprung of Hutchinson, MN, Sue (Tom) Kirchner of Lindstrom, MN and Mike (Wendy) Zimny of St. Cloud, MN; brothers, Herb Leidenfrost of Little Falls, MN and Lee (Josie) Leidenfrost of Pierz, MN; sisters-in-law, Elaine Zimny of Royalton, MN and Neddie Leidenfrost of Buckman, MN; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Angela; husband, Isidor (1/12/1998); brothers, Al and Carl Leidenfrost and sister, Rita Streasick.

Claras family would especially like to thank the staff of Riverside Assisted Living for the loving care given to Clara over the last few years.
