Carol Schwendinger

Carol Schwendinger, 68 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Tuesday, May 20 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 24 at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN, with Father Joseph Herzing and Father Joseph Backowski co-celebrating. The burial will be held in the parish cemetery.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 23 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls and from 9:00-10:30 A.M. on Saturday at the church.

Carol Schwendinger was born August 20, 1945 in Dubuque, IA to Steve and Imogene (Leib) Dura.She grew up in Dubuque, IA, where she attended Holy Ghost Catholic Grade School. Carol graduated from Wahlert High School in Dubuque, IA, with the class of 1963.She was united in marriage to James Jim Schwendinger in 1966 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dubuque, IA.The couple moved to Chicago, IL, while Jim attended college there.The couple then moved to Sioux Falls, SD, for two years while Jim finished college education. In 1970, Jim and Carol moved to Little Falls, MN, where they purchased their first home on Riverwood Dr.In 1973, the couple purchased their current residence the Lady Slipper Ranch in Belle Prairie, Township.Carol was a homemaker all of her married life raising the couples five children, Timothy James, William Joseph, Jeannie Marie, Jacob Michael and Meggan Eleanor.She enjoyed doing ceramics, quilting, sewing, gardening, playing the piano, fishing, spending time in the
outdoors with Jim, geocaching with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.Carol was very proud of her pink and white lady slipper. Carol was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she was active with home visits, singing in the choir, the prayer line and teaching CCD classes.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Jim Schwendinger of Little Falls, MN; children, Timothy James (Deya) Schwendinger of Rushford, MN, William Joseph (Janine) Schwendinger of Pine Island, MN, Jeannie Marie (Perry) Clark of St. Peter, MN, Jacob Michael (Maria) Schwendinger of Fallston, MD and Meggan Eleanor (Mark) Dzieweczynski of Pierz, MN; mother, Imogene Dura of Dubuque, IA; siblings, Dan Dura of Dubuque, IA and Mary (William) Schnoebelen of Dubuque, IA; 12 grandchildren, Samuel, Halen, Edysen Schwendinger, David and Alec Schwendinger, Nathaniel, Seth and Spencer Clark, Levi and Ben-David Schwendinger and Elijah and Noah Dzieweczynski; great-grandchild, Liam Schwendinger and a soon to be born grandchild and great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her father, Steve Dura; siblings, Steve Dura and Sharon Schnoebelen.
