Carl Richard Trettel Carl Richard Trettel, 87 year old resident of North Prairie, MN died Wednesday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church in North Prairie, MN with Rev. Laurn Virnig officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery and a luncheon will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton following the burial services. Friends may call from 5-8 PM on Friday and from 10-11 AM on Saturday at the church. Bowlus American Legion Post #642 will pray the rosary at 7:30 PM followed by parish prayers at 8:00 PM on Friday at the church. Carl was born March 10, 1921 in North Prairie, MN to the late Richard and Frances (Thomalla) Trettel. He enlisted into the United States Navy on July 25, 1942 and was honorably discharged on March 7, 1946. He was united in marriage to Loretta Fussy on May 6th, 1952. The couple lived and farmed near Royalton, MN all their married lives. Carl loved to waltz, trap gophers, talk on the phone, watch t.v. but most of all farm, farming was his life. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Bowlus American Legion Post# 642. Carl R. Trettel is survived by his children, Carolyn Becher and husband, Gene, of Paynesville, MN, Leo Trettel and wife, Cindi, of Royalton, MN and Theresia Sutton of Royalton, MN; grandchildren, Sarah (Josh) Rosvold, Paul Weinand, Diana (Reese) Gronau, Keith (Caitlin) Trettel, Daniel Sutton, Stephanie (Brian) Vouk, Adrian Trettel, Brion (Jamie) Becher and Richard Becher; great-grandchildren, Alizah Gronau, Alaynah Gronau, Eian Rosvold, Rion Becher, Alexander Becher and Nathan Becher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Frances; wife, Loretta Trettel; daughter, Mary Trettel; brothers, August Trettel, Br, Angelo Terttel, C.S.C. and Tom Trettel; sisters, Dorothy Psick, Sr. Mary Leona Trettel, O.S.F., Sr. Mary Berniece Trettel O.S.F. and Monica Pasch. Casketbearers will be Diana Gronau, Reese Gronau, Keith Trettel, Caitlin Trettel, Stephanie Vouk, Brian Vouk, Adrian Trettel, Sarah Rosvold, Josh Rosvold, Paul Weinand, Daniel Sutton.
