Carl M. Haugen, age 91, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015, at Harmony House of Little Falls.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 30, 2015, at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls with Rev. Keith Thompson officiating.Interment with military honors by the Minnesota Honor Guard will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Carl Mathew Haugen was born on December 9, 1923 in Grand Forks, North Dakota the son of Martin & Clara (Loken) Haugen.He grew up in Grand Forks where he attended school graduated from high school.Following his schooling, he joined the United States Army on March 15, 1943 and was honorably discharged on February 5, 1946.He was united in marriage to Angel Dufault on June 10, 1947 in Grand Forks, ND.The couple made their home in Grand Forks for a short time and eventually moved to Minneapolis where Carl worked as a Yellow Cab taxi driver.He also had a radio broadcast service where he would share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.Carl had a strong faith in God and shared his faith with people he came in contact with.That was his passion.Carl also enjoyed music, visiting with people, having coffee and donuts, and had a hobby farm later in life.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Michael Haugen of Burnsville, MN, Renae Haugen of Milwaukee, WI, Karen (Richard, Jr.) Henze of Springtown, TX, Laurie C. Rush of Little Falls, MN; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Angel (1997); son, David Haugen (2011); and grandson, Shannon Haugen.
