Bruce Holey, age 77, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at St. Gabriels Hospital in Little Falls, MN.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 1, 2016, at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN, with Rev. Gary Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 31st at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls.
Visitation will continue at the church on Monday from 10:00 11:00 A.M.
Bruce Gary Holey was born on April 30, 1938, in Montgomery, Minnesota the son of George Dorothy Dora (Kuzel) Holey. He attended school in Montgomery and graduated from Montgomery High School, Class of 1956. He then attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and graduated in 1960, with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Following his schooling, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and later joined the Minnesota Army National Guard. He was united in marriage to Marie Thomas on July 11, 1964, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault, Minnesota. The couple lived in Faribault until 1969 when they moved to Little Falls. He worked for Sherwin Williams in Little Falls and then Camp Ripley, retiring as a Maintenance Technician in 1995. After retirement, he continued to work for Logis Tech out at Camp Ripley for 10 years. Bruce enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching all sports on TV, was an avid MN Twins fan, spending time outdoors, bowling in a mixed league, his computer and watching judge and crime shows on TV. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up and attending their activities. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Little Falls American Legion for 36 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marie of Little Falls, MN; children, Jennifer (Leif) Hanson of Little Falls, MN and Joel (Melissa) Holey of Little Falls, MN; four grandchildren, Amanda Hanson, Aaron Hanson, Alex Holey and Emma Holey all of Little Falls.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, George Dorothy Dora (Kuzel) Holey; step-father, George T. Havel and mother-in-law, Rhoda Mador.
