Born to Peter and Catherine (Trudo) Neuner December 28, 1929, in Valley City, North Dakota, one of seven children.Died at the Haven House in Cambridge, MN, July 18th after some years of dementia.
Br. Clarence joined the Crosiers in 1951 as a novice, professing first vows on March 19, 1952, in Fort Wayne, IN.He served the Crosier Order and the Catholic Church as one of the founding four Crosiers who went to the mission of Agats in Papua, Indonesia, in 1958, to serve the people of Asmat.This is a region of swampy jungle laced with rivers and remote living.Br. Clarence served the remainder of his active vowed life there and was instrumental in both the spiritual and architectural building of the mission and the maintenance of the boats in this challenging rainforest region of eastern Indonesia where he also served as a catechist and pastoral leader in numerous villages.
Br. Clarence returned to the United States in 2002 and lived his retirement years at the Crosier Priory in Onamia, MN.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 23rd at the Crosier Priory Church in Onamia, MN.
The Reception of the Body will be at 9:00 AM with Morning Prayer Office of the Dead to follow.
Vigil will be kept until 11:00 at which time the Funeral Mass will begin.A luncheon at the Crosier Priory will follow the burial at the Priory cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the Crosier Fathers and Brothers.
He is survived by family, his Crosier confreres, and his beloved sisters and brothers who are the Church of Asmat.
