Brian Richgels

Brian John Richgels, age 53 of Little Falls, MN passed away Monday, October 26th at his home in Little Falls after a courageous battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Oct 29th at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Nick Landsberger and Rev. Mark Innocenti con-celebrating. Interment will be at a later date. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and Thursday from 8- 11:00 A.M. at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls,MN. Parish prayers will be said at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Brian John Richgels was born June 4, 1956 in St. Paul, Ramsey County, MN to Harold B. and Carol J. (Philipson) Richgels. He grew up in St. Paul where he attended Galtier Elementary School, North St. Paul Jr. High School, St. Paul Central High School for one year and Rosemont Sr. High School, graduating with the Class of 1974. After high school, Brian attended Dakota County Area Vocational School graduating in 1976. Following his schooling, Brian moved to Slayton, MN where he worked as a mechanic for United Parcel Service. He was united in marriage to Mary E. Lang on May 14, 1977, at St. Columba Catholic Church in St. Paul, MN. Following their marriage, Brian and Mary lived in Slayton, MN for 11 years. In 1987, the couple moved to Little Falls, MN where they owned and operated the Velvet Touch Car Wash in west Little Falls until 1991. Brian then went to work at National Bushing & Parts Company/Auto Value in Little Falls where he was employed at the time of his death. Brian was a loving husband and father who delighted in helping others, riding motorcycles, restoring cars and building cars, flying, his hobby farm and animals, cross country skiing, going to motorcycle rallies and camping with his wife and daughters. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary; daughters, Angela Richgels of Little Falls, MN and Sheree (Josh) Savage of St. Paul, MN; parents, Harold & Carol Richgels of Woodbury, MN; brothers, Mark (Sherry) Richgels of Coon Rapids, MN, Darrell (Melissa) Richgels of Stillwater, MN, Scott Richgels of Sparta, WI, Bruce (Debbie) Richgels of Elco, MN and a special sister-in-law, Julie Richgels of Little Falls, MN. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
