Bob Yasgar

Bob Yasgar, age 95, of Sobieski, MN, passed away Saturday, October 09, 2010, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN, with Rev. Leo Moenkedick officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Bob was born on May 21, 1915 on the family farm west of Sobieski the son of George and Martha (Wrobel) Yasgar. He grew up on the farm and attended school through the eighth grade at the District #13 Little Red School House. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Ringwelski on November 19, 1940 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski. Bob farmed all his life north of Sobieski. He also drove milk truck, served as mayor of Sobieski and was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski where he served as an usher. Bob enjoyed fishing, playing cards and especially spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Phyllis of Sobieski; daughters, Jeanette Petrich of Randall, MN, Joyce Holtz of Sobieski, MN, Elaine (Dennis) Super of Flensburg, MN and Sandy (Kenny) Schwientek of Sobieski, MN; brother, Frank Yasgar of Little Falls, MN; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George & Martha (Wrobel) Yasgar and siblings, Ted Yasgar, Fred Yasgar, Lawrence Yasgar, Joe Yasgar, Gertie Palashewski, Isabelle Trutwin, Celia Fussy.
