Betty Rasinski-Thies, 76 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died Monday, January 11, 2010 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 13 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN. with Father Mark Innocenti officiating. Burial will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Tuesday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service and from 9 AM until the hour of service on Wednesday at the church. Parish Prayers will be at 6:00 PM at the funeral home on Tuesday. Betty Rasinski-Thies was born December 5, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Lawrence and Blanche (Krejca) Yara. She grew up and attended school in Chicago. Betty graduated from Lindblom High School in 1952. During her time in Chicago she worked in the clerical department for Johnson and Johnson for a number of years. She was united in marriage to Sylvester Rasinski, he later died in 1978. Betty worked at Camp Ripley in Little Falls, MN for 20 years as a buyer for Military Affairs. She was united in marriage to Lester Thies on June 11, 1983 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie. The couple made their home in Little Falls, MN. Betty retired from Camp Ripley in January of 2000. Betty and Lester enjoyed traveling together. One of their most memorable trips was going to Alaska in 1988. Betty enjoyed bird watching, flowers and traveling. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Lester Thies of Little Falls, MN; brother, Donald Yara and wife, Barbara, of Arlington Heights, IL; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Blanche Yara; husband, Sylvester Rasinski and a brother, Lawrence Yara.
