Betty J. Galles

Betty Jean Galles, age 79, of Little Falls, MN passed away Monday, July 31, 2006 at St. Otto's Care Center. Betty Jean Belanger was born on June 15, 1927 in Little Falls, MN to Ernest & Stella (Klosowski) Belanger. She grew up in Little Falls where she attended school and graduated from high school. Betty worked as a waitress at the Pine Edge Inn and the Oaks Supper Club in Little Falls. She was united in marriage to Lester D. Galles in June, 1970. The couple lived in many different places in Minnesota including Golden Valley, Little Falls, Sauk Centre and Rice. They owned and operated the Airway Supper Club in Sauk Centre while living there. Betty and Lester eventually settled in Little Falls during the winter of 2004. Betty was always involved in and served in the local church in all the towns in which she lived. She also enjoyed playing bingo and cribbage, going to the casino, dancing and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Betty is survived by her husband, Lester, of Little Falls; children, Keith (Cyndy) Welter of Mesa, AZ, Don (Linda) Welter of Roanoke, VA, Tim (Londa) Welter of Little Falls, Jeanne (Craig) Gaines of Little Falls and Julie Erickson of Little Falls; grandchildren, Beth, Brandon, Annie, Laura, Heather, Dawn, Sarah, Jonelle, Tracy, Kimberly, Thomas, Rebekah, Corey and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Emmalee, Weslee, Sidney, Jessica, Jack, Elise and Lauren and step-sons, Dan and Duane Galles. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest & Stella (Klosowski) Belanger; siblings, Bernard Belanger, Elaine McDonough, Eva Grassel, Lorraine Millard, Ceil Larson and Clara Belanger. Casket bearers will be Matt Michels, Corey Ritter, Tyler Erickson, Tommy Gaines, Luke Selinski and Brandon Welter. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Crowder and Bob Pietrowski. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Fr. Nicholas Landsberger officiating. Burial was in the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery. Visitation was from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (East Chapel) in Little Falls. There was a parish Prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Visitation continues from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
