Bernice R. Salitros, age 89, of Little Falls, died Sunday, November 15, 2009, at Unity Hospital in Fridley, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Mark Innocenti officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 a" 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 and 9:00 a" 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, 900 a" 1st Street SE, Little Falls, MN. There will be a Christian Mother's Rosary at 4:30 Wednesday at the funeral home followed by a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Bernice Rose Zoran was born on November 28, 1919 in Flensburg, MN, to the late Frank Zoran & Stella (Deering) Zoran-Kuka. She grew up on a farm in rural Flensburg and attended country school. She was united in marriage to Thomas Salitros on October 11, 1938 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, MN. The couple made their home in Little Falls on the West side where they lived all their married life and raised their family. Bernice was primarily a homemaker but also volunteered as an election official. She also worked at the Woolworth Store in Little Falls. Bernice loved playing cards, playing bingo and going to the casino. She also enjoyed gardening and canned most of her produce. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls. Bernice had a positive attitude. She was a devoted wife and mother. She found joy being around people no matter where that was. She would often talk on the phone for hours with family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her children; James (Karen) Salitros of Coon Rapids, MN, Joseph Salitros of Delvan, WI, and Jerome (Stacey) Salitros of Golden Valley, MN; sisters, Bernadine Beniek of Chanhassen, MN, Marion Moser of Chaska, MN, and Genevieve Belinski of Columbia Heights, MN; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Salitros (Dec. 17, 2002); parents, Frank & Stella Zoran; step-father, Frank Kuka; siblings, Joe Zoran, Henry Zoran, Louise Salitros and Florence Fedor; brothers-in-law, Anthony Belinski, Gilbert Moser and George Salitros.
