Bernadine Hayes, 91 year old resident Pierz, MN formerly of Little Falls, MN. Died Monday, November 14 at the Pierz Villa in Pierz, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 17 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN with Father, Nick Landsberger officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:00-11:00 A.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. The Christian Mothers will pray the Rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers at 5:30 P.M. on Wednesday evening. Bernadine P. Hayes was born September 24, 1920 in Platte Township, Morrison County, MN to the late Henry and Johanna (Servarty) Boser. She attended District # 87 country school. She was united in marriage to Ralph Lawrence Hayes on September 26, 1939 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, MN. The couple made their home in Platte and Ripley Townships from 1939 until moving into Little Falls, MN in 1966. During their time in Little Falls, MN, Bernadine worked at the Little Falls Dairy Queen for 25 years. The grandchildren remember her as "Grandma Ice Cream Cone". During her life in Little Falls, MN, she was very active. She enjoyed volunteering at the Little Falls Senior Center making donuts. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church serving as a Christian Mother and volunteering for the funeral luncheons. Bernadine moved to Pierz, MN in 2004 residing there until her death. Bernadine enjoyed playing bingo, baking cookies and banana bread. Her children will remember her for her potato dumplings and eating her homemade fried chicken while fishing. Remembering her as a loving mother and grandmother are her children, JoAnn Maus and husband, Leander, of Pierz, MN, Carol Marshik and husband, Ernie, of Pierz, MN, Victor Hayes and wife, Betty, of Pequot Lakes, MN, Pat Rauch and husband, Bill, of Rice, MN and a son-in-law, Martin Stangl of Pierz, MN; siblings, Victor Boser and wife, Lucille, of Little Falls, MN, Caroline Waytashek of Little Falls, MN, Betty Erkens and husband, Gene, of Pierz, MN, Cel Stellmach and husband, Sylvester, of Sauk Rapids, MN, Elly Gall and husband, Leander, of Maple Lake, MN and Harold Boser and wife, Wendy, of Little Falls, MN; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Hayes; daughter, Marlys Stangl; siblings, Arnold Boser, Arthur Boser and Dorothy Keehr. Casket bearers will be: Janell Gapinski, Deanna Zapzalka, Christopher Rauch, John Hayes, John Stangl, Joseph Rauch.
