Benedict Ben Pietrowski

Ben Pietrowski, 79 year old resident of Little Falls, MN, died Wednesday, May 29 at the Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Cloud, MN. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 7 at 10:00 A.M. at the Camp Ripley Chapel inside the main gates of the military base with Father Joseph Herzing officiating. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.Friends may gather from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service on Thursday, June 6 and from 9:00A.M. until the hour of service on Friday at the Camp Ripley Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.


Ben was a native of the Little Falls area for much of his life, having been born there, and having graduated from Little Falls High School in 1952.He left Little Falls to serve in the army, which included an eighteen month deployment to Germany. Upon his return, he graduated from Dunwoody Institute as an auto mechanic, and lived/worked in the Twin Cities metro.Ben married Betty Retka on June 30, 1958. After buying his first herd of cattle in 1957, he juggled farming and being an auto mechanic for many years, before returning to farming full time. He resided at the same residence the rest of his life.He enjoyed all things outdoors; hunting, fishing, and especially farming. If anything surpassed his love of farming, it was the overwhelming joy he found in being a grandpa.



Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Betty Pietrowski of Little Falls, MN; father of: Lori Pietrowski of Eden Prairie, MN; Roger Pietrowski of Maple Grove, MN;Greg Pietrowski and wife, Becky of Sartell, MN; grandpa to: Austin, Ashlyn and Amber; brother to:Herman Pietrowski and wife, Lynette of Little Falls, MN, Pat Russell and husband, Norbert of Rogers, MN, Ted, Jr. Pietrowski and wife, Mary of Little Falls, MN, Mark Pietrowski and wife, Joyce of Little Falls, MN, Rosie Stiller and husband, Peter of Little Falls, MN; Helen McGrath and husband, Tom of Cross Lake, MN.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Martha ( Kanieski) Pietrowski.
