Ben Kokett, Sr.

Ben Kokett, Sr. age 89, of rural Little Falls, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, in Little Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN, with Fr. Jimmy Joseph and Fr. David Maciej con-celebrating.Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013, at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls.The Christian Mothers and the Daughters of Isabella will pray the Rosary at 4:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home followed by Parish Prayers at 6:00 p.m. and Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 7:30 p.m.

Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service.

Ben was born on November 19, 1924, in Swan River Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the son of Martin & Anna (Kupka) Kokett.Ben attended District 25 country school and Little Falls High School.On June 12, 1951, he was united in marriage to Mary Rudolph at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church in Bowlus, MN.The couple made their home on a farm in Swan River Township.Ben was a farmer all his life and retired in 1987 (but never really retired).Ben enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, his beloved pets, bird watching, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.He was a life-time member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski and member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary of Little Falls, MN; children, Mary Ann (Dave) Jack, Patricia Lenarz, Ben Jr., John (Lori), James (Jackie), Robert (Gail), Anthony (Jenny), Anna Olson, Kathleen (Matt) Fiala and Elizabeth (Thom) Nordin; siblings, Clara Holtz, Phinee Zak and 25 grandchildren.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Alexander Alex Kokett (July10, 2010); son-in-law, Gary Lenarz and sisters, Rose, Dorothy, Bridget and Caroline.
