Balbina Solorz, 83 year old resident of Little Falls, MN formerly of Bowlus, MN died Sunday, May 3 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 7 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus, MN. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, May 6 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN and from 9:15 to 10:15 A.M. on Thursday, May 7 at the church in Bowlus, MN. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in Bowlus, MN. The Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 P.M. followed by Parish Prayers will be said at 6:30 P.M. Balbina was born December 2, 1925 in Swanville Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Peter Fussy and Katherine (Weber) Fussy. She attended country school in Swanvriver Township. Balbina was united in marriage to Andrew Solorz on February 7, 1949 at St.Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN. The couple resided in Bowlus, MN working side by side at Andy's Tavern and Andy's Grocery. Balbina and Andrew moved to the Alverna Apartments in Little Falls, MN in 2002. Andrew died June 1, 2003, Balbina continued living in Little Falls, MN until her death. Balbina enjoyed gardening; she was known as a fantastic cook especially her poppy seed coffee cake and dumplings. She was very devoted to her church, helping when ever needed. Balbina had an exceptional talent in listening and caring for others. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Maile and husband, Joseph, of Scandia, MN, Rose Ann Guck and husband, Joseph, of Goldsboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Jessica Watson and husband, Jack, of St. Michael, MN, Pamela Baker and fiance, Jim, of Brooklyn Park, MN, Andrew Maile and wife, Trish, of Braham, MN, Karrie Bergmann and husband, James, Rosemount, MN, Jeremy Guck and wife, Amber, of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jordan Guck and wife, Lindsay, of Duluth, MN; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandson; siblings, Mike Fussy and wife, Ceilia, of Bowlus, MN, Betty Sand of Pueblo, CO, Frances Traczyk and husband, John, of New Hope, MN, Agnes Doucette and husband, Louis, of Cushing, MN; sisters-in-laws, Irene Fussy of Sobieski, MN and Eleanor Solorz of Upsala, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Katherine (Weber) Fussy; husband, Andrew Solorz on June 1, 2003; siblings, Raymond Fussy, Verna Eisele, infant sister, Mady Fussy; granddaughter, Paula Maile and half-sister, Mary.
