August Henry Barten

August "Gus" H. Barten, age 19 of Little Falls, MN, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 from injuries received in an automobile accident. Services will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls with Father Mark Innocenti officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 ~ 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 8:00 ~ 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral chapel. August "Gus" Henry Barten was born May 29, 1992 in Rochester, Olmstead County, MN to Michael John Barten, Sr. and Sharon Ann (Patterson) Barten. His family moved to Pierz, MN where he attended Holy Trinity Elementary School and Healy High School. His family later moved to Little Falls where he resided at the time of his death. Gus was happiest working on his cars and listening to music. He was loved very much by his family and friends and was a joy to have around. Left to cherish his memory are his father and step-mother, Michael (Julie) Barten, Sr. of Little Falls, MN; his mother Sharon Barten of Onamia, MN; brothers, Michael J. Barten, Jr. of Little Falls and John Robert Wadena of McGregor, MN; grandparents, Lucy Held of Little Falls, MN, Esther Green of Cohasset, MN; aunts, Leona Mae Barten, Frances Barten and Michelle Green, all of Cohasset, MN; and many cousins & friends. Gus was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald Held, Raymond Green and an uncle, Leroy Barten. Honorary pallbearers are John Robert Wadena, Michael John Barten, Jr., Amber Green, Raeann Green, Cody Pelzer, Jericho Reno, Andrew York, Adam Hanson, Ashley Stumpf and Tesa Reno.
