Arnold Radziej

Arnold "Jack" Radziej, 79 year old resident of Little Falls, MN died Monday at his home in Little Falls, MN after a three and a half year battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 25 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday at the church and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Parish Prayers will be said at 6:30 P.M. followed by KC'S at 7:30 P.M. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery Camp Ripley. Military Rites will be conducted by the Little Falls American Legion Post #46, Little Falls VFW Post #1112 and the Disabled American Veterans. Arnold "Jack" Radziej was born June 22, 1928 on a farm near Royalton, MN to the late John and Julia Radziej. He worked on the ore boats at the age of 16 in Duluth, MN. Jack enlisted into the United States Army serving during the Korean War on January 18, 1951. He was honorably discharged on October 17, 1952. Jack was united in marriage to Doris Brixius on June 18, 1956 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman, MN. Jack delivered Grainbelt beer for a few years. He worked at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN for over 33 years. He held a chief engineers license. Jack loved deer hunting, fishing, traveling, snowmobiling, playing cards, spending time with his "College" buddies and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a life member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV and KC's. Jack was an usher at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and counted the Sunday collection for 25 years. He was also a former member of their finance committee. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Doris Radziej of Little Falls, MN; sons, Randy Radziej and special friend, Laurie Tax of Little Falls, MN, David (Kathy)Radziej of Arden Hills, MN; daughters, Mary(Earl) Fuechtmann of Little Falls, MN, Patty (Pete) Becker Avon, MN, Linda (Val) Pilarski of Little Falls, MN, Karen (Verd) Anez of Little Falls, MN, Jane (Keith) Kotsmith Oak Park, MN; brothers, Earl (Marian) Radziej of Minnetonka, MN, Tom (Eileen) Radziej of Minnetonka, MN, Larry Radziej of Royalton, MN; sisters, Betty (Tom) Slomkoski Midland, MI, Joyce Mester of Royalton, MN. 27 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Julia Radziej; brothers, Gerald Radziej, Leo Radziej, Jim Radziej; sisters, Irene Stoltz, Dorothy McEwen and Angeline Baker.
