Amelia "Milly" M. Kroll, age 76, of Pierz, MN, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Pierz Villa in Pierz surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN, with Fr. Kenneth Popp officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz with a Christian Mother's Rosary at 4:30 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Saturday from 9-10 a.m. Amelia "Milly" Marie Schroden was born on April 12, 1936 in St. Cloud, MN the daughter of John & Amelia (Braun) Schroden. She grew up in St. Cloud where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Edward Kroll on August 27, 1956 in St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. The couple made their first home on Ed's family farm near Royalton. In 1960, the couple purchased Cottonwood Beach Resort on Briggs Lake which they owned and operated for three years and then sold. The couple then purchased a farm in Buh Township near Pierz where they raised their eight children and farmed until their retirement. Milly enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, Edward Kroll of Pierz; children, Gerald Kroll of Little Falls, Marilyn (Brian) Anderson of Lakefield, MN, Doris (John) Trutwin of Rice, Rose Hoheisel of Pierz, Roger (Judy) Kroll of Pierz, Rita (Roger) Dullinger of Sartell, Allan (Kristie) Kroll of Pierz and Joyce (Tom) Leidenfrost of Pierz; brother, Albert Schroden of Cold Spring; sister Martha Kirchner of Sauk Rapids; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Milly was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Robyn Hoheisel; brothers, John Schroden, Jr. and Frank Schroden and sisters, Clara Guggenberger, Lucille Salzer, Anna Blissenbach, Susan Kosbab and Elizabeth Dingman.
