Alvin Cichon

Alvin Cichon, age 86, of Ramsey, MN, passed away Friday, June 12, 2009 at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, MN. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service, 900 - 1st Street SE, Little Falls, MN. Interment will be in Orrock Cemetery, Orrock, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Alvin Cichon was born on September 17, 1922 in Sobieski, MN, the son of Frank & Pauline (Bieniek) Cichon. He enlisted in the United States Army on November 13, 1943 and was honorable discharged on December 13, 1945. He was united in marriage to Katie Burkhardt-Johnson on March 9, 1963 in Hawkins County, Virginia. Alvin worked as a custodian for the Anoka School District. After the death of his wife in 2000, Alvin moved to Grey Eagle to be near family and friends. When his health declined, he became a resident of Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose, MN where he resided at the time of his death. He enjoyed working with his hands, spending time with family, especially the children. He had a quiet, gentle spirit and a happy face that beamed and continued to do so until his death. Survivors include his siblings, Roman Cichon of Royalton, MN and Celia Schlag of Isanti, MN; step daughter, Jerry Johnson of Fergus Falls, MN; step daughter-in-law and caretaker, Madonna Frie of Burtrum, MN; step-grandchildren, Troy Lattimer, Randy Johnson, Vance, Johnson, Melissa and Wendy; 13 step great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Pauline (Bieniek) Cichon; wife, Katie (Burkhardt-Johnson) Cichon; brother, Florian Cichon and step-son, Harvey Johnson. Casketbearers will be Vance Johnson, John Johnson, Randy Johnson, Fred Frie, Roger Schlag and Robert Schlag.
