Alois Sam Fussy 79 year old resident of Royalton, MN passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 28at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton, with Father Roger Klassen and Father Lauren Virnig officiating. A visitation will be on Thursday, July 27from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the church, and continue from 9:15-10:15 AM on Friday also at the church. The Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 4:30 PM andParish Prayer will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday evening at the conclusion of the visitation. Burial will be in the parish cemetery
Alois Joseph Fussy was born on January 14, 1938 in Royalton, MN to the late Joseph and Theresia (Schlichting) Fussy. He graduated from Royalton High School with the class of 1956. Sam enlisted in the United States Army and served his Country for two years. He was stationed in Korea. He was honorably discharged and returned to Royalton, MN. Sam was united in marriage to Arlene Molus on July 5, 1965 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Elmdale. The couple made their home in Royalton for 52 years. He farmed his whole life and also worked road construction as a blade operator for 17 years. Sam enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, politics, watching sports on TV, bird watching, and enjoying good music. He will be remembered for his gift of gab, making friends everywhere, teasing and babysitting his grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the NRA. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Alois is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Fussy of Royalton, MN; daughters, Beth (Steve) Muntifering of Royalton, Colleen (Patrick) Schlangen of Lewiston, ID, Denise (Jason) Strohbehn of Palo, IA, JoAnne (DJ) Prom of Upsala, MN, Stephanie (Scott) Gall of Pierz, MN and Samantha (Charlie) Gerads of Little Falls, MN; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Clarence (Paula) Fussy, Arlene (Roger) Stanek and Karen (Gary) Sobiech.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and 1 grandson.
