Alma Brownie

Alma E. Brownie, age 95 of Little Falls, MN passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Nick Landsberger officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Little Falls. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Monday and from 8-11A.M. Tuesday at the Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. Parish prayers will be said at 7:00 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral chapel. Alma Elizabeth (Lindemann) Brownie was born November 5, 1914, in Sauk Centre, Stearns County, MN to the late Bernard and Cecelia (Hansen) Lindemann. She grew up in Sauk Centre where she attended country school. Following her schooling, Alma worked for her sister and her husband at Femko Farms. Alma was united in marriage to Leonard L. Brownie on January 30, 1940, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre, MN. The couple lived in Sauk Centre, MN, Long Prairie, MN and Little Falls, MN. Leonard died October 10, 1971. Following his death, Alma continued to live in Little Falls. She became a resident of St. Benedict's Center in St. Cloud, residing there until her death. Alma enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafts, gardening and making cancer patches. She set up for daily Mass at the Russell Arms Apartments for many years. She also worked with the missions sorting and folding clothing. Alma was a member of St. Mary's Church in Little Falls. Left to cherish her memory, are her sons & daughters, Bernard (Delores) Brownie of Wrenchell, MN, Lawrence (Janice) Brownie of St. Joseph, MN, Frank (Janice) Brownie of Sauk Rapids, MN, Darlene (Jim) Karnes of St. Joseph, MN, Helen (Rudy) Krampotich of Hibbing, MN, Mary Andersen of St. Cloud, MN, Theresa (Bryant)Bottomley of St. Cloud, MN & Cecelia (Amadee) Andria of St. Cloud, MN; sister, Virginia O'Malley of St. Cloud, MN; 18 grandchildren, 27 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Alma was preceded in death by her husband Leonard; daughter, Shirley Ginter; parents, Bernard & Cecelia Lindemann; grandson, Lonnie L. Brownie; sisters & brothers, Theresa Klapperick, Beatrice Veeder, Abby Doege, Mary Wenzel-Bennight, Rose Miller, Tony Lindemann, Casper Lindemann, Albert Lindemann, Joseph Lindemann, Mike Lindemann & John Lindemann. Casketbearers are Duane Brownie, Steve Brownie, Todd Karnes, Micky Krampotich, Troy Decker, Robert Karnes, Aaron Andria & Jeff Karnes.
