Albert G. Storkamp, age 89, of Pierz, MN, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 29, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN, with Fr. Gerald Dalseth officiating. Interment with military honors by the Pierz American Legion Post #341 and the Little Falls V.F.W. Post #1112 will be in the parish cemetery . Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 28th and 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 29th at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Pierz. There will be a Christian Mother's Rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by Pierz American Legion prayer service at 6:00 P.M. and Parish Prayers at 7:00 P.M. Albert George Storkamp was born on December 18, 1918 in St. Wendel, Minnesota to the late Ferdinand & Mathilda (Neeser) Storkamp. He grew up in the St. Cloud area and attended country school. He entered the United States Army on September 10, 1941 and served in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged on January 16, 1946. He was united in marriage to Pauline Klein on May 4, 1946 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park, MN. The couple made their home in St. Cloud before moving to the Pierz area in 1948. Albert owned and operated Storkamp Garage in Genola until 1981 when he retired. Albert kept active in his retirement sharpening saws and filing. In 2000, he moved to Country Place in Pierz. Albert enjoyed traveling in his younger years, hunting, fishing, woodworking, visiting with friends and family and especially enjoyed his family and grandchildren. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, Pierz American Legion Post #341 and Little Falls V.F.W. Post #1112. Left to cherish his memory are his children, James "Jim" Storkamp of Little Falls, Robert (Vi) Storkamp of Becker, Roland (Darcey) Storkamp of Pierz; sisters, Delores Skogh of Minneapolis and Joan Bennett of San Antonio, TX; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Ferdinand & Mathilda (Neeser) Storkamp; wife, Pauline Storkamp (Feb. 18, 1997); infant daughter, Mary Storkamp and siblings, Cyril Storkamp, Paul Storkamp, Herbert Storkamp, Claude Storkamp, Peter "P.J." Storkamp, Cecilia Kuebelbeck, Stella Rassier, Dorothy Storkamp, Theresa Storkamp, Marcella Krippner, Natalie Taufen and Marie Lipinski. In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred.
