Alan Keehr, age 84, of Little Falls, Mn, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at his home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN, with Rev. Bill & Diane Knaack officiating. A private interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 and 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2010 all at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls, MN. Alan Benton Keehr was born on February 3, 1927 in Bellevue Township, Morrison County, Minnesota to the late Jacob & Anna (Galliher) Keehr. He grew up on a farm in Platte Township in Morrison county until he was old enough to attend school. He attended school through the 12th grade at Faribault School for the Deaf. Following his schooling, he returned to the family farm and farmed with his father. He was united in marriage to Edna Mae Rudolph on November 14, 1953. The couple made their home on the farm with Alan's parents and later moved to Little Falls. Along with farming, Alan worked as a baker at Youth Bakery in Faribault, MN and Maddens Resort in Brainerd, MN. He went to work at Crestliner Boats in Little Falls, MN. After leaving Crestliner Boats, he worked at Larson Boats in Little Falls, MN, as an engineer from February 11, 1964 to July 17, 1992 when he retired. Alan enjoyed woodworking, camping, going for drives with his wife, spending time with family and friends. He was a jokester with his family and close friends and was a very proud man. His favorite sayings were "what is life for" and "money doesn't grow on trees" and "if you are going to do something, you better do your best". Alan is survived by his wife, Edna of Little Falls, MN; children, Bebe Tessum, Anchorage, AK, Debbie (Robert) Wright of Lewisville, TX, Bob (Jacqueline) Keehr of Freedhem, Julia (Brian) Oleson of Little Falls, MN; grandchildren, Jacob (Charlee) Kammermeyer, Denise Burke, Darcie Casey, Lacie Barela, Justin Morgan, Nichole (Brent Hayes) Keehr, Gordon Keehr, Christopher Keehr, Mike (Julie) Zilka, Jeremy Davis, Levi Keehr, Jayme Oleson, Shantell Oleson, Kevin Oleson, Samantha Oleson; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Lee Keehr of Freedhem, MN; sister-in-law, Eileen Keehr of Little Falls and brother-in-law, Orren Snavely of Brainerd, MN. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob & Anna (Galliher) Keehr; siblings, Marie Ryan, William Keehr, Joyce Snavely.
