Agnes M. Knopik

Agnes M. Knopik, age 86 of Little Falls, MN passed away Monday, July 07, 2008 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 11, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie with the Rev. Mark Innocenti officiating. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (East Chapel) in Little Falls. Visitation will continue from 9:00 - 10:30 A.M. Friday at the church with a rosary at 10:00 A.M. Agnes Marie Koroll was born on January 18, 1922 in Elmdale Township, Morrison County, MN to the late Phillip & Mary (Schichta) Koroll. She grew up in Morrison County and attended Elmdale country school through the eighth grade. Following her schooling, Agnes moved to Minneapolis and worked as a waitress. She later met and was united in marriage to Thomas W. Knopik on June 17, 1947 at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Elmdale. Agnes and Tom made their home in Minneapolis until 1949 when they moved to Belle Prairie Township where they farmed until 1984. Agnes also worked for 40 years at the LeBlanc Game Farm. She enjoyed cooking but especially making coffee cakes. Agnes was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie. She was asked by Fr. Harold Kost to serve as chairperson for leading the daily rosary prior to each mass. She also was chairperson of one of the funeral lunch committees, was a member of the St. Robert's Mission Circle (which she helped start in 1950), St. Anne's Society and the Christian Mother's. Agnes is survived by her children, Diane Young of Sartell, MN, Doris Zier & husband, Keith, of Wanamingo, MN, Donna Kapus & husband, Gene, of Little Falls, MN and Jim Knopik & wife, Debbie (Young), of Little Falls, MN; 15 grandchildren, Charles "CW" Young, II, Brianne Young, Haley Young, Carol Jutz, Michelle (Bryant) Kohl, Kyle Eastman, Amy (Brandon) Husbyn, Ashley Zier, Rhonda (Joel) Olson, Mark Kapus, Renee Kapus, Stacy (Reid) Stranberg, Tracy (Bill) Grant, Jessica Knopik, and Cpl. Robert Knopik (currently serving in the United States Marines in Iraq); and 14 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, Dusty, Saisha, Courtney, Tanner, Isabelle, Michelle, Trisha, Jerry, Travis, Peder, Allison and Rachel and sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Roman Koroll of Elmdale, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom on January 4, 2005; parents, Phillip & Mary (Schichta) Koroll; brothers & sisters, Peter, Roman, Mike & Stanley Koroll, Mary Woitalla, Margaret Dobis & Albina Woitalla. Honorary Pallbearers will be the St. Robert's Mission Group. Casketbearers are her grandchildren.
