Adeline Thommes

Adeline Thommes, age 90, of Little Falls, MN, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 5, 2010 at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Rev. Nicholas Landsberger officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pierz, MN. Visitation is 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Friday, July 9th and 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 10th at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. There will be a Rosary at 4:30 P.M. followed by a parish prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Adeline was born on March 29, 1920 in Buckman, MN to the late Xavier & Mariane (Falk) Hurrle, the 12th of 15 children. She grew up in the Buckman area where she attended grade school. As a child, she was an avid reader and continued this throughout all her life. She was united in marriage to Ernest Thommes on September 16, 1941 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman, MN. The couple made their home on a farm in the Genola area where they raised their family. The couple moved to Little Falls in the 1970's. Some of Adeline's favorite pass times were gardening, picking berries, canning, baking apple pies, sewing and crocheting. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz and later St. Mary's in Little Falls. Her faith was very important to her. She faithfully prayed the Rosary every day. Adeline loved the outdoors, especially the birds and other wildlife. She will be deeply missed and will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carol (Len) Jansen of Blaine, MN, Dianne Thommes of Bloomington, MN, Janice (James) Brolsma of Appleton, WI, Mary (Kurt) Moen of Rogers, MN, Tony Thommes of Minneapolis, MN and Therese Thommes of Minneapolis; siblings, Ida Govett of St. Paul, MN, Edna Mooney of Minneapolis, MN and Rita (Gerald) Flicker of Pierz, MN; grandchildren, Linda Jansen, Brian (Kellie) Jansen, Nancy (Mike) Nelson, Dale Jansen, Amy Brolsma, Mike (Amanda) Brolsma, Joshua Moen and Jenny Moen and 13 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, David, Dylan, Paige, Derik, Abbey, Emily, Lauren, Bryce, Hunter, Dawson and Thomas. Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest (February 19, 2006); daughter, Maureen Thommes (January 17, 2002); siblings, Helen Sitzman, Regina Zenner, Nicholas Hurrle, Victor Hurrle, Rev. Maurice Hurrle, O.S.B., Henry Hurrle, Blasius Hurrle, Edward Hurrle, Philomine Hurrle, Paul Hurrle and Frank Hurrle. A special "Thank You" to all the caring staff at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls. Casket bearers will be Linda Jansen, Nancy Nelson, Brian Jansen, Dale Jansen, Joshua Moen, Amy Brolsma and Mike Brolsma. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
