Frances Shea, 96-year-old resident of Pierz died Thursday, January 16 at the Harmony House in Pierz. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Frances Warzecha was born on March 26, 1923 in Holdingford, Mn to Frank and Stella (Stein) Warzecha. She attended school in South St. Paul until the 10th grade.Francis married James Shea in May of 1941 in St. Paul, MN. The couple owned Wig Wam Bay Resort on Mille Lacs Lake. She also worked at The Grand Casino on Mille Lacs Lake. Frances was an experienced seamstress, working at Butwinicks in the sewing department. She loved dancing, motorcycle riding, hunting, fishing, horseback riding and playing cards. She especially loved airplane rides with her husband.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Jim (Colleen) Shea of Richfield, Rick (Lou) Shea of Milaca; daughters, Shirley (Ron) Arcand of Garrison, Kathleen (Russ) Dombovy of Brainerd, Michelle Shea of Brainerd; sisters, Lois (Alvin) Wolf of Coon Rapids, Elaine Corrigan of Foley; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James; brothers, Roy, Joseph, Vincent, Frank and Claude; grandsons; Eric Arcand, Jason Johnson and granddaughter, Laura Lee Johnson.
